The source was compiled before 1440, largely in Brescia. It bears a close resemblance to Bologna Q 15, with versions that are often almost identical. The focus is on works by Dufay, Arnold de Lantins and Beltrame de Feragut. The works of a composer known as ‘do Vala’, about whom almost nothing else is known, form a section that is almost distinct in its own right.
